Tellspec combines Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy with software and proprietary cloud-based Machine Learning. Its three-part system connects an Enterprise or Preemie spectral sensor, the SpecAI cloud engine, and the SpecData mobile app. The work spanned mobile and web development, BLE sensor integrations, native Android SDK changes, and live reporting, including FishTell and MyNutri built from scratch.

Tellspec pairs a handheld near-infrared sensor with cloud machine learning to analyse food and materials on the spot. The three-part system links the Enterprise or Preemie sensor, the SpecAI cloud engine and the SpecData mobile app a user holds in their hand.
The work covered the mobile and web layers: connecting the app to the sensor over Bluetooth Low Energy, extending the native Android SDK, sending scans to the cloud for analysis and showing results in real time. FishTell and MyNutri, two apps on the same platform, were built from scratch.
Connected-device work is where mobile development gets hard: unreliable Bluetooth links, native modules on both platforms and a backend that has to answer within seconds. This is the experience we bring to apps that talk to sensors, meters and equipment.
